California Employers Face New COVID-19 Regulations

In what may be a bellwether for other states, California recently enacted its own extensive COVID-19 emergency rules for business and industry.1 Issued in late November by the California Occupational Safety & Health Standards Board, the regulations apply to all places of employment except for:2

  • Those with employees working at home
  • Those with only one employee who has no contact with other people
  • Those already covered by Cal/OSHA’s aerosol transmission standard
