No windfall please

FIRST LOOK: Dozens of House Republicans are making it clear that they oppose any efforts to impose a windfall tax on U.S. energy companies.

About 50 GOP lawmakers in all — including every Republican on the House Ways and Means Committee — joined a letter led by Rep. Adrian Smith (R-Neb.) that laid out a number of concerns to Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen about a tax aimed at the excess profits of oil-and-gas companies.
