House Republicans blocked a resolution Monday calling on Vice President Mike Pence to begin 25th Amendment proceedings to remove President Donald Trump from office.
Earlier on Monday, Majority Leader Steny Hoyer introduced a Unanimous Consent resolution to get the House to consider legislation calling on Pence to take action and activate the 25th Amendment and begin the removal of Trump. The Resolution accuses Trump of inciting the January 6 riot that temporarily halted the counting of electoral votes, resulted in the deaths of five people, and caused damage to the US Capitol building.
