House Judiciary Committee alleges in report that Trump committed criminal bribery and wire fraud

The House Judiciary Committee on Sunday filed a report of impeachable offenses by President Donald Trump, adding criminal bribery and wire fraud to his list of crimes. The report also refutes White House Counsel Pat Cipollone’s pushback against impeachment on the grounds of due process.

The report states that due process protections are not granted during impeachment investigations. The report further argues that Trump has already received adequate procedural protections throughout this investigation. “The House’s impeachment inquiry provided President Trump procedural protections that were consistent with or in some instances exceeded those afforded to Presidents Nixon and Clinton.
