The chair of the House Oversight Committee, Carolyn B. Maloney, announced Tuesday that she would be investigating claims that Postmaster General Louis DeJoy violated campaign finance laws.
The announcement by Rep. Maloney came after a report by the Washington Post over the weekend alleged that, while DeJoy was the CEO of New Breed Logistics in North Carolina, he encouraged employees to donate to Republican candidates. It is further alleged that he gave those employees larger than normal bonuses as a way to reimburse them for the donations.
