New York Attorney General Letitia James filed suit Tuesday in the US District Court for the District of Columbia against Donald Trump, in his capacity as President, Louis Dejoy, in his capacity as Postmaster General, and the US Postal Service (USPS). Joined in the complaint as plaintiffs are the states of Hawaii, New Jersey, and New York, and the city and county of San Francisco.
The suit is aimed at blocking changes that could impact mail-in voting during the upcoming election. The suit states that beginning in June 2020, the USPS began to make substantial policy changes that affected operational efficiency and the timely delivery of mail.
