Supporters of the bipartisan tax bill needed a statement vote out of the House Ways and Means Committee on Friday to help their cause — and they sure got one.
Only three of the committee’s 43 members voted against the agreement, as Pro Tax’s Benjamin Guggenheim noted — all Democrats concerned that the bill’s expansion of the Child Tax Credit was too stingy.
The action on the tax agreement will take a pause this week, with the House on recess. But supporters hope to vote on the bill as soon as next week, when the House comes back to Washington.
