Vanguard Group, the largest mutual fund operation in the United States, attracts investors with its low-cost index funds. All of that may change if the government penalizes the company for tax-evasion, but California Assemblyman Mike Gatto believes he has a solution.
The assemblyman has proposed a bill to absolve Vanguard from paying state taxes.
